I am very grateful with newswav.com for publishing my story on 06 August 2026, titled “Balance business impact: A economy built on millions of diverse SMEs is highly resilient against global corporate shocks”, the leadership team of MyAeroSatu, met with PNB (Permodalan Nasional Berhad) President & Group Chief Executive, Datuk Rizal Rickman Ramli at his office of Level 90, Menara Merdeka 118, KL and presented the importance of SMEs-led ties to Malaysia's growing aerospace scene, boosting jobs, skills, and local supply chains. Malaysia has advanced in manufacturing components and in the MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul), through several policy interventions, institutional & infrastructural support. Industry Collaboration Programs helped to promote local content, technology transfer, and domestic supplier development. The sector has over 240 firms, concentrated in MRO and manufacturing.
MyAeroSatu is of the view that “While Malaysia faces several challenges in future development of this sector, such as environmental, social & governance (ESG) compliance, technology and talent gaps, as well as external headwinds under President Trump's tariff, there is potential for developing Sustainable Aviation Fuel from the available feedstocks to reduce the carbon footprint & competitiveness of this sector. This is where a consortium of SMEs can help.”
Secretary Dzul Bahrin said, “A consortium is temporary, project-specific alliance of SMEs where independent entities pool resources to achieve a defined goal. It is not trying to nationalize but consortium built for short-term commercial, bidding, or research objective, like building a large product or fulfilling a government tender. It can be dissolve once the specific project or task finishes. It is formed through a binding legal contract without any corporate merger."
During the exchanging of business cards with Datuk Rizal, Chairman Prof Zul who is also WUSME Ambassador In Malaysia assured that, “WUSME holds significant global importance as a primary advocate, representative & bridge for MSME and the craft sector connecting to international WUSME networks.”
