Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights has yet to be unveiled in all its libidinous glory, but Margot Robbie, who plays Catherine Earnshaw in the film, has been stoking our interest for the Brontë adaptation with her recent red carpet looks. The Australian actress has traded her Barbie pink dresses for ensembles that are sensual, romantic and daring—as the upcoming film is supposed to be. (Did you see the fish fingering scene in the teaser?)

Margot Robbie’s looks for the Wuthering Heights press tour are styled by Andrew Mukamal, the mastermind behind the actress’s method dressing moments for Barbie back in 2023. This time, Mukamal draws on historical fashion, gothic elements and even quotes from Emily Brontë’s novel to bring Margot’s Cathy to life. So far, Margot’s Wuthering Heights press tour wardrobe includes dramatic gowns from fashion brands like Chanel, Schiaparelli and Alexander McQueen, statement pieces from independent designers like Dilara Findikoglu and Mark Gong, and even rare finds like a vintage John Galliano ensemble.

Ahead, we break down Margot Robbie’s best Wuthering Heights red carpet looks—and how you can add a dose of gothic drama to your style in 2026.

Show Some Snakeskin

At the Wuthering Heights press junket in Beverly Hills, Margot Robbie wore one of her boldest outfits ever: a red, corseted minidress by Dilara Findikoglu, crafted entirely from python-effect leather.

The scaled material has the power to shock—just like Cathy’s declaration in the novel, “I’d rather be hugged by a snake,” which inspired Margot’s outfit. To make an impression on your next night out, consider stepping out in a python-print dress from Jean Paul Gaultier, or add a risqué touch with a pair of Tom Ford heels in snake-effect leather.

Consider A Corset

Nothing says “I’m starring in a period drama” like wearing a corset, which is what Margot did while out and about in London. Her floral jacquard corset, from Dilara Findkoglu, was paired anachronistically with buckled, bootcut jeans also from the London designer. You too can put the ripper in “bodice ripper” by styling your corset with edgy, distressed jeans or a pair of leather trousers.

Draped In Velvet

Velvet is one of the most sensuous fabrics around; what better material to wear when promoting one of the year’s sexiest films? At a photocall in Paris, Margot was the picture of opulence as she wore a custom Chanel ballgown in burgundy velvet, draped over a white skirt. She also wore a matching velvet choker.

The lustrous fabric is ideal for your evening affairs: show off your favourite velvet dress at a party, or break up an all-black outfit with a pair of red velvet pumps from Manolo Blahnik, Margot’s preferred shoe brand.

A Choker Is Enough

If there is a single accessory that stands out across Margot Robbie’s Wuthering Heights looks, it’s the choker. Margot has worn an array of styles during the film’s press tour, from diamond-embellished velvet ribbon chokers to more ornate pieces, like the Cartier Taj Mahal necklace, featuring a large, heart-shaped pendant that once belonged to the Mughal empress Mumtaz Mahal.

As Margot shows us, a choker is the simplest way to spruce up an outfit. Pair your favourite little black dress with a matching choker for a look that is vaguely Victorian, or choose a necklace with red accents to dial up the drama.

Give Them The Slip

Giving naked dressing a delightful twist, Margot Robbie was seen in Beverly Hills wearing a sheer slip dress that appeared to have come undone, exposing her bra. A closer look revealed that her outfit, from Mark Gong’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, is actually a floral dress covered with a mesh overlay inspired by stockings. Margot’s knee-high, strappy leather boots are also from the Shanghai-based fashion label. Recreate the look by layering different lingerie pieces, like a sheer dress and a mesh corset—bonus points if it comes in red, the colour of passion.

Dress to Kill

At the heart of Wuthering Heights is a tempestuous love story, full of violent passions. That’s why even as Margot appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live wearing a sheer black floral lace dress from Alexander McQueen, her romantic ensemble still had bite, in the form of the brand’s leather stilettos with curved, horn heels. You too can show your teeth—figuratively, of course—by accessorising your outfit with jewellery and shoes with claws, spikes and other dangerous details.

Ruffle Some Feathers

Literature majors will recall the scene in Wuthering Heights when a delirious Cathy tears at her pillows and pulls feathers from it. As a nod to that scene, Margot Robbie donned a couple of striking feathered looks from Victoria Beckham’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, as well as one from the Maison Margiela Artisanal 2025 haute couture collection.

As it happens, feathers are a big trend this year: these lightweight embellishments easily add texture, visual interest and a sense of movement to an outfit. You can introduce a feather-trimmed minidress to your wardrobe (a fun look for a night out!), or pair your favourite trousers with a feather-embellished top to make a statement in the office.
