Wyndham Clark has a commanding lead at the US Open with just 36 holes left to play.

Clark has experienced a real resurgence in 2026, and he returned to the winners’ circle after two year hiatus at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in May.

The 32-year-old, who won the US Open at Los Angeles Country Club in 2023, has looked much more like his old self this season.

And now Wyndham Clark has a real chance of winning his second US Open title, this time at Shinnecock Hills.

The four-time PGA Tour winner knows he can get the job done in the very biggest events, and he will need that belief this weekend at Shinnecock.

Clark has highlighted how the wide fairways at Shinnecock suit him down to the ground, and his scores this week have proven exactly that.

Clark posted a scintillating opening round 64 at Shinnecock on Thursday.

The one-time major champion followed that up with a solid 69 on day two.

Clark now leads Xander Schauffele and Matt Fitzpatrick by four shots heading into the weekend at the US Open.

In shooting 133 for two rounds, Clark posted a record 36-hole score at Shinnecock Hills.

That goes to show just how difficult the golf course has played historically.

The question now is whether or not Clark is able to maintain his current form during the final two rounds at Shinnecock Hills.

Wyndham Clark’s stats through two rounds at the US Open

Every single part of Clark’s game has been extremely solid this week at Shinnecock.

He’s ranked 5th in strokes gained approach through two rounds at the US Open.

Clark is ranked 9th in strokes gained putting, and his work on the greens has really kept him in the tournament at times.

The 32-year-old is ranked 27th in strokes gained off the tee and 28th in strokes gained around the green.

In total, he has gained more than three strokes on the field through two rounds.

Those numbers prove that there is not one part of his game that has let him down this week.

And if Wyndham Clark keeps that up, he will undoubtedly be a two-time US Open champion come Sunday evening.
