Manchester City goalkeeper Zak Steffen hopes to impress manager Pep Guardiola during his loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The USA international has signed with Fortuna for the season.
He told BILD: "My claim is to be number 1 at Fortuna. But coaches and managers did not promise me to become a regular player. I have to work hard for that.
"Yes, that's my goal. I want to be number 1 in Manchester too!
"Pep's words give me extra motivation. I want to confirm his statements with achievements. That's why it's good for me to play in Dusseldorf. I can probably distinguish myself more here than with Bayern or BVB."
