Henrikh Mkhitaryan admits he chose to join Roma after realising he had little chance of regular football with Arsenal.
The midfielder has joined Roma on a season-long loan.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "When I realised that I would find little space in London and the prospect was open with Roma, I threw myself in. I am sure we will do well."
Armenia are to meet Italy and Mkhitaryan added: "Italy impressed me against Greece, they won without conceding anything. For me already two goals against Italy? I would like to score the third. I hope it reduces the distance between us. We must not be afraid and play with every possibility."
