Real Madrid whiz Takefuso Kubo was happy to feature in their defeat to Bayern Munich in Houston.

However, the midfielder would've liked to have won.

Kubo said, "We've lost our first game and I'm unhappy about that. However, I'm really pleased to have made my Real Madrid debut.

"There aren't many Japanese players in the European leagues and I'm the only one at Real Madrid, that's why I love the fact that there's so much affection towards me. I'm happy to be flying the flag for Japan at Real Madrid, but I've only played one game and have to keep going. A club like Real Madrid has many fans in every country and that gives you a real boost.

"My teammates are really friendly, they talk to me lots and make me feel at home. What I've been most struck by is the quality of all of the players and I must mention Zidane's menality as a player too."
