CAPAS, Tarlac — Yacine Guermali claimed his third straight 5,000-meter men's open title in the ICSTI Philippine Athletics Championships at the New Clark City Stadium Wednesday morning.
A two-time silver medalist at the Southeast Asian Games last December, Guermali clocked 14 minutes and 15 seconds (unofficial) as he topped the very first competition of the week-long competition that started at 5:30 a.m.
The 26-year-old Guermali kickstarted his three-peat in the 2024 edition of the meet.
