
A grand open yoga competition was organised at DAV Girls College in Yamunanagar under the joint auspices of Yoga Bharati Yamunanagar and the Yoga Department of DAV College.
Participants from various schools and yoga academies took part with enthusiasm, showcasing their skills and discipline in different yoga forms. A prize distribution ceremony was held later, where results were announced and all participants were recognised for their efforts.
Parmar, a student of Mukand Lal Public School, Sarojini Colony, Yamunanagar, was awarded the title of ‘Best Yogi’. In the girls’ category, Deeksha and Ruchi, both from Khalsa Yoga Academy, were jointly named ‘Best Yogini’.
Winners were presented with cash prizes and trophies, while medals were awarded to participants who secured first, second and third positions across different age groups and categories.
Chief guest Dr (Major) Harinder Singh Kang, retired Principal of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, felicitated the winners and wished them a bright future. He also described yoga as the foundation of a healthy life.
On the occasion, Dr Mangal Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Balinder Singh, Bablesh Singh and Subhash, along with Ritu and other members and officials of the organising committee, were present.
