
Kota Kinabalu: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s (GRS) candidate Yee Tsai Yiew revealed her manifesto during a walkabout to the city’s three most popular “tamus” recently.
They were Foh Sang, Lido and Gaya Street markets. Among her aspirations is for KK to have a Light Rail Transit (LRT) Track.
“This proposed LRT network will be a medium to connect and integrate the Kota Kinabalu city centre to the surrounding areas such as in Luyang, Likas and other nearby areas.
“This will enable smooth road traffic and minimize people’s travel time. It is also seen to be able to prosper the business ecosystem,” she said.
The 32-year-old lawyer is among the women in the running for the Kota Kinabalu seat is the daughter of former three term Api-Api Assemblyman Datuk Seri Yee Moh Chai.
Tsai Yew of Parti Bersatu Sabah said Improving Irrigation and Drainage Plans is included in the masterplan.
“A comprehensive irrigation and drainage plan to solve the poor water problem we are facing must be carried out.
“We also need to establish collaboration with irrigation and drainage department experts from neighbouring countries to study the best management practices to correct the current flooding issue in Kota Kinabalu,” she said.
As a first timer, she said the acceptance of people towards her as a candidate was good.
She expressed concerns of graduates pertaining the issue unemployment.
“I would create a Kota Kinabalu Youth Entrepreneurship Support and Counselling System,” she said.
