Once considered a niche superfood from the Amazon, acai bowls have become a go-to for both wellness and indulgence in Singapore. Especially in Singapore’s tropical heat, açai bowls are a refreshing option for those looking to cool down under the hot sun.

For centuries, the açai fruit has been part of the Amazonian diet, where the berry would be blended with sugar and manioc flour. In Singapore, açai bowls gained popularity thanks to the opening of pioneer brands including An Acai Affair and Project Acai. These bowls were quickly embraced and became a staple in Singapore’s health food scene. Today, cafes and specialty shops across the island have embraced this purple berry, with some focusing on classic Brazilian-style blends that highlight the berry’s purity, while others get creative with toppings.

With so many options available, finding the best açai bowls in Singapore can be a delightful challenge. From hip wellness cafes to hole-in-the-wall joints, offerings are spread across neighbourhoods, each with its own take on the berry.

Whether dressed up with granola and nut butters or kept clean with fresh fruit and superfood toppings, here are some spots to visit for hearty açai bowls in Singapore.
