Kota Kinabalu: Young people are valuable human capital as they are the future leaders to develop Sabah, said the Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Datuk Juliah Salag.

That’s why, she said, education is not only important but also the foundation in the formation of a civilised society.

“Our young people must be ready to challenge their own abilities and strive beyond their capabilities so that their dreams are achieved.

“In today’s world which is quite challenging, children need to be big-hearted and have a wide range of perspectives as well as common sense to make any judgements about the direction of their lives, the nation and country,” she said.

Juliah said this when officiating at the Al-Hafidz Tuaran Islamic Primary School (SRIAHT) 2022/2023 Session Excellence Award Ceremony at Kota Kinabalu Industrial Training Institute, near here, last Saturday.

Juliah also congratulated the students at SRIAHT who succeeded in achieving excellence in the field of curriculum and co-curriculum, including religious studies, academics, Al-Quran, morals and human capital.

“Hopefully, their success will be an inspiration to other students. In fact, there is no shortcut to success except by working hard.

“Committed and dedicated in seeking knowledge and mastering various skills will encourage students to become excellent, brilliant and distinguished school members.

“This success would be the result of solid cooperation of all school members including administrators, teachers and students,” she said.
