YouTube star targeted with abuse after confronting racism at World Cup

  • YouTube star Morgan Burtwistle, known as Angryginge, revealed he received a significant amount of online abuse after confronting alleged racism during an England World Cup match.
  • Burtwistle attempted to have a man removed from England's 0-0 draw with Ghana at Boston Stadium on Tuesday, accusing him of making "incredibly racist comments" towards the Ghanaian national team.
  • Despite Burtwistle reporting the incident and having five witnesses, stewards initially stated they could not kick the man out, and he was ultimately not removed from the game.
  • Burtwistle expressed frustration with the American stewards, who reportedly told him the man would only be ejected if he made another racist comment, a policy he deemed "ridiculous".
  • Fifa has been contacted for comment regarding the incident, which Burtwistle documented in a YouTube video and shared screenshots of the online abuse on Instagram.
