- Green Party leader Zack Polanski finished second with 33 per cent of the vote, securing a 13 per cent swing to his party.
- Mr Polanski vowed to remain as Green Party leader despite the by-election defeat and growing scrutiny over his leadership.
- He congratulated Labour’s newest MP on her victory in the Holborn and St Pancras by-election, sharing on social media: “Congratulations to @Sagal_AW. I wish her the very best in representing this amazing place. I'm proud of the campaign we fought. To go from 10% to 33% of the vote share during the PM's 'bounce' is good - but our ambitions are far higher.”
- Former Green leader Caroline Lucas had suggested Mr Polanski could face a leadership threat after he missed a conference vote declaring Zionism as racism.
