PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pix) has denied claims that he has resigned as the Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman and Umno president.

Zahid took to Facebook to deny the rumour after a picture of his purported resignation letter went viral today.

“The letter that is being spread is fake and it is made by irresponsible individuals,“ he said.

The statement dated Nov 22, allegedly signed by Zahid, stated that he had resigned as both Barisan chairman and Umno president while mentioning that Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob would be assuming both positions.

Zahid has faced calls to resign following BN’s dismal performance in the general election.
