In a plot twist straight out of a political TV drama series, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has once again donned his cloak of wisdom and taken to social media to assure Malaysia that Bossku (aka Datuk Seri Najib Razak) is pure as a whistle — a whistle, mind you, that’s only been slightly worn down by 25 corruption charges.
To the untrained eye, this reassurance may sound redundant. But remember, Zahid's pronouncements carry the mystical weight of a soothsayer. He's no mere politician—he’s a “clarifier of truths,” illuminating that an accused person entering their defense is nothing more than a golden opportunity to prove innocence.
Never mind that it’s not usually a good look for a former Prime Minister to be granted the chance to defend against dozens of corruption charges; Zahid’s here to let us know this is just another chance to get it right!
With statements like “the decision doesn’t prove Najib is guilty,” Zahid has indeed achieved new heights in the art of saying the obvious.
And what could be more comforting to the Bossku faithful than hearing that Najib is just a defender in the courtroom, a man on a heroic quest to clear his name?
Like a father whispering a bedtime story to a worried child, Zahid assures his followers that this whole “trial” thing is merely a detour on Najib's path to justice — nothing more than a blip on the radar of innocence.
If there’s any cause for concern, Zahid’s here to dispel it with his trademark faith in the judiciary. Yes, he respects the law, he says with a flourish, even as he raises an eyebrow at the “real culprit” of 1MDB, a shadowy villain who apparently got away with billions, leaving Najib as the tragic hero.
And so, the great soap opera continues: Najib’s supporters get a morale boost, Zahid affirms his loyalty, and Malaysia sits back, waiting for the next episode.
The script, however, never changes. Zahid will keep reassuring, Najib will keep defending, and everyone else will keep wondering when the soothsaying will end and the real reckoning will begin.
