Zahid: ‘We will continue what was planned for the Indian community’

Zahid says The biggest initiative was related to urban poverty within Indians in the city, and poor infrastructure and utilities at plantation areas.

He further added they were currently scrutinising the ideas that had been discussed by his late Special Officer for Indian Affairs, Datuk Seri Ramesh Rao.

“The biggest initiative was related to urban poverty within Indians in the city, and apart from that the (poor) infrastructure and utilities at plantation areas.

“We will also looking into the education of the Indian children as he (Ramesh) noticed there were many drop outs,” he said.

He said this during a media visit at the late Ramesh’s residency in Petaling Jaya, today.

Ramesh, the Pertubuhan Minda dan Sosial Prihatin president died on Jan 14 due to heart attack. He was 52.

He was appointed at the Special Officer for Indian Community to the Deputy Prime Minister to look into issues and interests of the Indian community, last year.
