Kota Kinabalu: The Coroner’s Court was told on Wednesday that Zara Qairina Mahathir cried and denied stealing when she was accused at SMKA Tun Datu Mustapha, Papar.
Chief dormitory warden Azhari Abd Sagap, 31, testified during the inquest that Zara was called by the dormitory chief before returning to her dormitory in tears.
He said Zara was heard shouting, “aku tidak mencuri bah!” (I did not steal), before she was last seen heading towards the hostel’s toilet.
