Zara Tindall was spotted giving a loving gesture towards her uncle, King Charles, today at Royal Ascot.

Both the King and Zara have been ever-present at this year's Ascot, which is a cornerstone in both the royal and sporting calendars.

Arriving for day four of the prestigious event, the former Olympian wore an off-white polka dot dress by Claire Mischevani with a decorative hat from Sally-Ann Provan and a black clutch bag.

The King, meanwhile, donned a light grey suit with a striking yellow waistcoat on top of a blue tie.

As the King, who was joined by Queen Camilla, headed into the stands for the Royal Box, his niece Zara blew an affectionate kiss in his direction before waving the pair goodbye.

Zara, who is 22nd in line for the throne, has demonstrated her close relationship with the King throughout the week, often sharing laughs and gently touching the monarch's arms.

The King and Queen later took their seats in the box, where the King could be seen wiping his brow in an effort to cool down as temperatures at the Berkshire racecourse climbed to a scorching 29C.

The sweltering conditions did little to dampen the spirits of the royal party, however, as they settled in to enjoy the day's fixtures.

Renowned British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber was invited by the King to join the carriage procession, travelling to the festival in an open-top landau accompanied by his wife, Madeleine Gurdon.

He was also present during the Order of the Garter ceremony in Windsor earlier this week, alongside former prime minister Sir Tony Blair.

The celebrated musical theatre maestro's appearance followed the unexpected delight of Stanley Tucci's presence on Thursday during Ladies Day.

The American actor, 65, best known for his role in The Devil Wears Prada, looked entirely at ease in a traditional top hat and tails as he made his way to the racecourse with wife Felicity Blunt.

Mr Tucci, a familiar face at royal gatherings, added personal flair with a beaded bracelet and sunglasses.

A host of familiar faces graced the Berkshire venue today, with former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh, Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins, former BBC journalist Mishal Husain, and perennial Ascot favourite Georgia Toffolo all spotted among the crowds.

Despite the tropical conditions, racegoers refused to let the heat compromise their sartorial standards.

Guests transformed the racecourse into a vibrant display of colourful outfits, clutching fans and drinking water to stay cool whilst maintaining their elegant appearances.

This year's official style guide was curated by menswear designer Daniel Fletcher, whose portfolio includes work for Louis Vuitton and Victoria Beckham, with bright tomato named as the colour of the year.
