Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Wilmar Barrios admits he had a past offer from Nottingham Forest.
Barrios has also attracted past interest from Newcastle United, with the midfielder among the outstanding players in the Russian Premier League.
On Forest, he confirmed to Sport-Express: "Indeed, there were some conversations, but all this is already in the past.
"At some point, we sat down to discuss everything with representatives of Zenit, and they made me an offer to extend the contract.
"I happily agreed."
