Zoe Ball explains decision to join Greatest Hits Radio after leaving BBC Radio 2

Zoe Ball has revealed why she has decided to take a new job at Greatest Hits Radio.

From 7 September, the presenter will host the weekday 1pm to 4pm show. It comes a year and a half after she left BBC Radio 2.

Explaining her decision on her Dig It Podcast with Jo Whiley, Ball said the new “lovely shift” allows her to focus on being a mother.

“It means I get to be mum in the morning and mum in the evening if I need to. I can be around if she needs me, so that's good.”

Ball said she is “really looking forward” to the new role, as well as working alongside her friends and former Radio 2 colleagues Ken Bruce and Simon Mayo.
