Electric kettles manufactured by Zwilling J. A. Henckels Aktiengesellschaft have been recalled across the United States following reports that handles can loosen and separate from the body of the kettle, causing hot liquid to spill. The recall, announced on 14 May, covers approximately 113,440 units sold over a period of several years.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission confirmed the recall involves the Enfinigy 1.5-litre and Enfinigy Pro 1.5-litre models, which were retailed at Costco and HomeGoods stores as well as throughzwilling.com. Prices ranged from $120 to $200.

Hundreds of Complaints, One Serious Injury

The CPSC said the firm had received a total of 163 reports of the kettle’s handle separating or loosening, five of which involved confirmed handle separation. One incident resulted in a second-degree burn. The affected kettles were sold at Costco between September 2019 and November 2025, and at HomeGoods stores nationwide and online from December 2019 through to February 2026. An additional 43,963 units were sold in Canada and 48 in Mexico.

Affected model numbers span both product lines: 53101-200 and 53101-201 cover the standard Enfinigy Kettle, while 53101-500, 53101-501, 53101-502, 53101-503 and 53101-504 relate to the Enfinigy Kettle Pro. The models were available in black, silver, rose, gold and pure white. Units can also be identified through Zwilling ID numbers 1021174 and 1021203, or Costco item numbers 1773073 and 1773101. The branding and model numbers appear on the underside of both the kettle and its power base.

What Consumers Should Do

The CPSC is urging consumers to stop using the recalled kettles immediately and to contact Zwilling for a full refund. Those in the United States are directed to visit www.zwilling.com/kettle-recall, where instructions are provided for rendering the product unusable before disposal. This involves unplugging the kettle, cutting the power cord, and uploading a photographic record of the product. Once these steps are completed, the item should be safely discarded. Zwilling can be reached toll-free on 866-963-4583 or by email at enfinigy-kettle-recall@zwilling.com.

The kettle recall is one of several product safety notices issued in recent months. Earlier this week, the Agio-Menlo Woven Patio Swing (sold exclusively at Costco) was recalled after eight reports of the seat detaching from its frame, causing injuries to the head and arms. Around 18,500 units were sold between February and March 2026.

Last month, more than 200,000 pairs of 32 Degrees Heated Socks were recalled following 14 reported incidents, 13 of which involved first or second-degree burns. The socks were sold at Costco between August 2025 and March 2026. In the same period, approximately 740,000 sets of Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue stainless steel sauté pans, sold at Costco, Walmart and Amazon, were recalled after nearly 100 reports that a metal cap connecting the pan to its handle had detached.
