Malaysia has thousands of clinics.
So why are hospitals still overcrowded?
Over 70% of private GP clinics in Malaysia are now struggling to stay afloat.
At the same time:
Public clinics are packed.
Hospitals are overwhelmed.
This is not a shortage of doctors.
It’s what happens when an entire country starts entering the healthcare system through the same door.
A public clinic visit can cost RM1.
A private GP might cost RM30–RM80.
So naturally, demand concentrates.
