RFID lanes are getting an upgrade

Your RFID sticker isn’t the only thing an Enhanced RFID Lane reads. It also uses automatic number plate
recognition to help detect cars as they pass.

One lane is live at AKLEH, with 10 more announced. I saw the technology behind it at MyARTTE—and
it’s a lot of work for the few seconds we spend at a toll.
