When the haze comes, we’re told to stay indoors, shut the windows, turn on the air-con and use an air purifier.

But not everyone has those options.

Lower-income families, outdoor workers and even animals can have far fewer ways to escape the same polluted air the rest of us are breathing.

Sometimes the biggest impact of the haze is on the victims we don’t see.
