What happens if Indonesia stops selling gas to Singapore?

Indonesia is considering not renewing gas export contracts with neighbouring countries.

Singapore generates 95% of its electricity using natural gas. But it has other suppliers, including Malaysia.

Could Singapore end up paying more for gas? And could Malaysia actually benefit from Indonesia’s decision?

The economics are more interesting than they first appear.
