Why is PERKESO taking more money from your salary?

Your PERKESO deduction is higher.

Some Malaysians say it’s another compulsory deduction they never asked for.

The government says it’s because workers are now protected for many accidents outside working hours through the new LINDUNG 24 Jam scheme.

In 2025, PERKESO paid out RM6.65 billion in benefits to over 1.15 million recipients.

So the real question isn’t whether insurance is useful.

It’s whether social protection should be compulsory, even if it means a smaller take-home salary.
