Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysia Business Empowerment Carnival (HPM) Sabah Edition, scheduled for Oct 23-25 here, is targeting the participation of 100 entrepreneurs and about 50,000 visitors over three days.
Deputy Chief Minister III cum Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said his Ministry (Mindet) would fully support the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (Kuskop) in organising the carnival, including bringing 50 local entrepreneurs to participate.
“We welcome this collaboration and will give our full support to ensure the success of the Malaysia Business Empowerment Carnival in Sabah,” he said after receiving a courtesy call from Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin recently.
Mohamad said Kuskop would bring another 50 entrepreneurs, while Padang Merdeka and Lintasan Deasoka are being considered as possible venues, with the final location to be decided after a site visit, adding that the carnival would also feature business-matching programmes to help entrepreneurs expand their markets.
He said Kuskop would also continue the Tamu Desa programme, under which 134 projects involving RM30.6 million had been completed and were operational throughout Sabah as of August, with efforts being made to continue and, if possible, increase its allocation.
