
SANDAKAN: Police arrested 14 people comprising locals and foreigners in a series of operations targeting drug distribution and substance abuse, here, from March 21 to 26.
Sandakan District Police Chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the operations reflect their commitment to combating drug-related crimes in the district.
He urged the public to continue channelling information to facilitate the fight against drugs.
In the Ops Tapis Narkotik at Jalan 2 Bandar Sandakan on Wednesday, four foreigners, including a woman, were arrested.
On March 24, operations in Kampung Sungai Kayu and Kampung Batu Putih led to the arrest of a local man and two foreigners.
On March 23, a local was apprehended during an Ops Tapis Narkotik/Ops Pusat Hiburan at a premises in Bandar Sandakan.
On the same day, a team from the Police Mobile Patrol Vehicle apprehended two men behaving suspiciously in a vehicle at Batu 8.
Inspections led to the discovery of a black package containing 116.02gm of syabu worth RM12, 762.
On March 22, a foreigner was detained during at squatter areas in Kampung Forest and Kampung Mangkalinau.
On March 21, three foreigners, including a woman, were detained at the Batu 2 Sandakan squatter area.
