
The Sonepat police arrested two accused after a brief encounter on Sunday, within 10 hours of a youth’s murder in Bhatgaon village of the district on Saturday late night. The encounter with the accused occurred in the Mohana area on Sunday morning.
As per the available information, a youth was murdered by bike-borne two youths near Luhari-Tibba road, by firing three bullets on his head while his friend managed to save his life from there.
The deceased has been identified as 27-years-old Bittu from Bhatgaon village. He was on the way to the village along with his friend Sagar after his duty in a factory on Saturday late evening.
As they reached Badwasni road, the two brothers, Mohit and Bittu from the same village allegedly attacked them. The assailants shot several rounds of bullets on Bittu and he died at the spot. The assailants also shot fire upon Sagar, but he managed to escape from the spot.
During the preliminary investigation it was revealed that Praveen, brother of Sagar had a love marriage with a girl, who was the sister of assailants Mohit and Prince, around five years ago. They have two children and they didn’t return to the village after their marriage.
The girl’s family suspected that Bittu, who was a friend of Praveen, was also involved in their marriage. Keeping enmity in their mind, Mohit and Prince allegedly attacked Bittu and Sagar.
Narender Kadyan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime, said after getting youth’s murder information, the police teams have been activated and they were in search of the accused.
Inspector Vijay Kumar, Incharge, CIA-1 received information about the accused in the wee hours after which the team laid a trap near Jaji village in Mohana area and gheraoed them.
After seeing the police teams, the accused opened fire on police team. In retaliation, the police team also opened the fire in which both the miscreants sustained bullet injuries on their legs.
The police team nabbed both the accused and admitted them to the Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College for Women at Khanpur Kalan in injured condition, he added. Both accused have been arrested within 10 hours of the murder incident, the DCP Crime said.
The accused have been identified as Mohit and Prince of Bhatgaon and both are siblings. The police team recovered two country made pistols .315 bore and a white colour motorcycle used in the crime, DCP crime asserted.
