
A tragic road accident in Johor has claimed the lives of two brothers and left five others injured after a car allegedly lost control and veered into the opposite lane during heavy rain.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the incident occurred at around 4.30pm yesterday (Apr 19) along KM36.7 of Jalan Kluang–Ayer Hitam in Batu Pahat.
Car skidded into oncoming traffic
According to Batu Pahat district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani, the accident happened amid heavy rainfall when a car travelling from Kluang towards Ayer Hitam was believed to have lost control before entering the opposite lane.

The vehicle, which was carrying four brothers, then collided with an oncoming car and a sport utility vehicle (SUV).
A pair of brothers, aged 30 and 20 years old respectively, suffered severe head injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old driver and another 25-year-old brother sustained injuries in the crash.
The second car involved was driven by a 42-year-old woman, while the SUV was occupied by a 35-year-old man and his wife. All three individuals sustained minor injuries.

Case investigated for reckless driving
Police are currently investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death by dangerous or reckless driving.
Authorities have reminded motorists to exercise extra caution, especially during bad weather conditions, as slippery roads significantly increase the risk of accidents.
