The Proton S70 Lite and S70 Prime variants have been introduced from a very attractive RM56,800.

National automaker PROTON has officially introduced two new accessible variants to its C-segment sedan portfolio with the debut of the 2026 PROTON S70 Lite and Prime. Engineered to broaden consumer access to modern sedan comfort, the new additions lower the entry barrier of the S70 range while introducing a naturally aspirated powertrain.

The introduction capitalizes on significant market momentum, with the S70 model line sustaining average monthly sales exceeding 2,500 units throughout 2026. Since order books opened on September 7, the Lite and Prime configurations accumulated over 10,000 nationwide reservations in just two weeks, reflecting substantial local demand for an accessible, segment-straddling family four-door.

Pricing Structure and Early Bird Launch Rebates

Official on-the-road pricing without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia starts at RM59,800 for the 1.5 Lite and RM62,800 for the 1.5 Prime. In East Malaysia, standard retail pricing is listed at RM61,800 for the Lite and RM64,800 for the Prime.

To mark the launch, PROTON is extending an early bird reward rebate of RM3,000 to all customers who complete both vehicle booking and registration by December 31, 2026. With the promotional incentive applied, effective starting prices drop considerably:

• PROTON S70 1.5 Lite: RM56,800 (Peninsular Malaysia) | RM58,800 (East Malaysia)

Under the hood, both models transition from the turbocharged architecture of higher grades to an i-GT 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. This is the same powertrain that’s available on the full-spec Proton Saga.
