
A contingent of 28 NCC cadets (15 JD and 13 JW) from DAV Public School, Mohal, participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-227) held at JNV, Pandoh, and organised by 2 HP Battalion, NCC, Mandi. The 10-day camp provided the cadets with valuable opportunities to develop leadership, discipline, confidence and teamwork. Throughout the camp, the cadets attended informative lectures on personality development, self-awareness, moral education, judging distance for a firer, map reading, women’s empowerment, menstrual hygiene and education, medical precautions, leadership qualities of Captain Vikram Batra, and modern Indian history. Special sessions were also conducted by experts from the NDRF, Fire Station, Traffic Police and Army Recruiting Office (ARO), providing practical knowledge on disaster management, fire safety, road safety and career opportunities in the armed forces. The camp featured several competitions and activities, including the lemon-and-spoon race, relay race, tug-of-war, quiz, debate and cultural events, where the cadets displayed exceptional talent and sportsmanship. The school won an impressive 12 medals (eight gold and four silver). Shivanshi Thakur was declared Best Cadet Overall, while Harshita Raghav, Harshit Sharma, Ayush, Animesh and Aarav Thakur won gold medals. Paramveer, Ritesh and Piyush secured silver medals. The remarkable performance of the cadets reflected their dedication, discipline and the consistent guidance provided by the NCC unit and school. Principal RS Rana congratulated all participating cadets for bringing pride and honour to the institution.
