NCC cadets of Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, Mohali, delivered an outstanding performance at the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-94), organised by the NCC Training Academy, Ropar. Their remarkable achievements across various competitions earned the school the prestigious ‘Overall Best Institute’ trophy. During the 10-day camp, the cadets underwent rigorous military training while actively participating in a wide range of cultural, creative and sporting activities. Demonstrating exceptional talent and discipline, Cadet Ekamjot Kaur won the gold medal in the speech competition with her confident presentation and impressive oratory skills. Cadet Divyanshi secured the gold medal in the poster-making competition, while Cadet Sachleen Kaur earned the bronze medal in the shooting event. The school’s cadets also displayed outstanding teamwork by securing first position in the drill competition, cultural programme and cleanliness competition, contributing significantly to the school’s overall championship. Congratulating the cadets, Chairman AS Bajwa said the achievement was a matter of immense pride for the entire Shemrock family. He said the cadets’ dedication, discipline and teamwork had proved that hard work always leads to success. He appreciated the efforts of the cadets and their mentors and expressed confidence that they would continue to serve the nation with the same commitment while bringing more honours to the school. Principal Prarineet Sohal said the victory reflected the determination, perseverance and hard work of the students. Receiving the ‘Overall Best Institute’ title was a proud milestone for the institution. She congratulated Ekamjot, Divyanshi, Sachleen and all participating cadets for their excellent performances and sportsmanship. She reaffirmed the school’s commitment to the holistic development of students and wished them continued success in the future. On their return to the school, all winning cadets received a warm welcome and were felicitated during a special assembly in the presence of the entire school to inspire fellow students to strive for excellence.
