2K Games have teased the next instalment of their NBA 2K franchise, with Jalen Brunson being linked as the next cover star.

And if speculation is to be believed, this year is bound to get even better for him, as he is set to receive an honor only the best of the best receive in the NBA.
2K Games share cover star hint with New York-themed teaser
On their official X account, 2K Games shared a teaser for the upcoming NBA 2K27 video game. The teaser features a straight image of a New York subway train car, with a shot clock that reads 23 days to go.
Not only is this a confirmation that the franchise will unveil their next installment before the end of July, it also suggests that New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson will be the cover star.
Brunson is the star player and the face of the New York Knicks franchise, and is likely to be the next cover athlete for the NBA 2K franchise.
Brunson earned Finals MVP honors after winning the NBA championship and was the star player for the Knicks in their run to the championship.
NBA 2K continues tradition of championship star player gracing video game cover
If Brunson is indeed the next cover star of the NBA 2K franchise, it will mark the third straight year that the star player of the reigning NBA champion graces the cover of the game.
After winning the championship in 2024 with the Boston Celtics, Jayson Tatum was named the cover athlete for the subsequent NBA 2K25 video game.
And last year, after leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to their maiden NBA championship, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander became the cover athlete for NBA 2K26.
Brunson could be the next star player to grace the cover of the video game, thus making him an even more recognisable figure in the NBA than he already is.
