38 Pinoy seafarers from 4 vessels return home

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) late on Friday announced the return of 38 Filipino seafarers who were aboard four vessels that were struck by drones or missiles while along the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement, the DMW said the Filipinos were on board the M/V Marathi, M/V Minoan Pioneer, M/V Blue, and M/V Nissos Sifnos.

Representatives from the DMW’s Sea-based Team, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Medical Team received the seafarers at the airport.

All Filipinos received airport and financial assistance from DMW and OWWA, while the MIAA Medical Team made initial medical checks.

Meanwhile, representatives of the manning agencies of the seafarers, namely Sea Gate Navigation Corporation, Intercrew Philippines Agency, Inc., and Bright Maritime Corporation also met the arriving crew.
