The Gurugram traffic police issued challans to 514 vehicles for using illegal black films and imposed fines worth Rs 51.40 lakh over the past 22 days.

The police carried out a special enforcement drive against vehicles violating black film rules from May 1 to May 22. A senior police officer said the drive aimed to ensure transparency on roads and strengthen checks on criminal activities. The officer said black films on vehicle windows not only violate traffic rules but also pose law and order concerns.

The Gurugram police appealed to residents not to use black films on vehicles and to follow the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. The police said compliance with traffic rules ensures public safety and helps maintain law and order.

“The Gurugram traffic police will continue such special enforcement drives in future as well,” the officer said.
