RANAU: Six people – three men and three women - cheated death in two separate road accidents here on Wednesday.
Ranau Fire and Rescue Station Chief Ridwan Mohd Talib said a man and a woman sustained injuries when the Proton Saga they were travelling in caught fire after colliding with a three-tonne truck in front of Valley Resort, Bundu Tuhan, at 3.10pm.
“We received an emergency call through the MERS999 and an eight-member team led by operations officer Mastin Suli rushed to the scene about 23km away,” he said.
He said the car was 95 per cent burnt and the victims were sent to the Ranau Hospital using an EMRS vehicle. The car that crashed and landed on a road shoulder
In the second incident at 8pm at Km 26, Jalan Ranau-Telupid, near Kg Nabutan Ranau, four people – two men and two women – escaped unscathed after the Perodua Alza they were travelling in skidded and overturned on the road shoulder.
“The four had managed to get out of the vehicle themselves before the fire and rescue team arrived,” said Ridwan.
