
Following the withdrawal of 364 nomination papers, 695 candidates have been left in the fray for the civic body polls in the district.
In Mohali, 84 candidates withdrew their papers, leaving 227 in contest for 50 wards.
In Derabassi, 69 candidates withdrew their nominations. One candidate from Ward No. 19 was declared elected unopposed, while 79 candidates remain in the contest for the remaining 18 wards.
In Kurali, 16 candidates withdrew their nominations, leaving 77 in the fray for 17 wards. In Nayagaon, 47 candidates withdrew nominations, leaving 87 in the fray for 21 wards. In Zirakpur, 88 candidates withdrew from the contest, leaving 124 candidates in the fray for 31 wards.
In Lalru, 46 candidates withdrew their nominations. One candidate from Ward No. 9 was declared elected unopposed, while 61 remain in the contest for the remaining 16 wards. Similarly, 14 candidates withdrew their nominations in Banur, leaving 40 in contest for 13 wards.
