Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admits they cannot afford to compete for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz this summer.

Chelsea are targeting Havertz - and Rummenigge admits they won't be a competitor.

He told Sport1: "I am saying this very clearly: a transfer for Havertz will not be possible for us this year for economic reasons.

"All European football and also Bayern are currently facing great economic challenges that will last as long as it is not possible to play again in front of spectators.

"I hope Havertz stays at Leverkusen for at least another year. After all, we are interested in having competition."
