Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold was happy to receive praise from club legend Steven Gerrard.
Alexander-Arnold was excellent in Liverpool's 5-3 win over Chelsea, and lifted the trophy with his teammates after the game.
He has been instrumental in their Champions League and Premier League successes these past two seasons.
And Gerrard was complimentary about Alexander-Arnold not only recently, but as far back as 2016 when he wrote about the youngster in his autobiography in 2016.
Alexander-Arnold said about the praise to reporters: "[Gerrard's] a hero, a legend, an icon, someone who I always looked up to, someone that I try to become and want to emulate.
"I was just proud of him acknowledging my talents and singling me out individually as someone with a bright future.
"It was an honour for me...I always used him as an inspiration to become a better player."
