West Bromwich Albion are in talks with Brighton over the transfer of Shane Duffy.
West Ham boss David Moyes was keen on a reunion with Duffy, who he managed at Everton.
But Sky Sports says the newly-promoted Baggies are leading the chase for the 28-year-old centre-back.
Brighton are willing to sell Duffy in order to free up room for Ben White.
The 22-year-old is returning from a successful loan spell with Leeds United.
The Whites are keen to bring him back to Elland Road, while Liverpool and Chelsea have also been linked with his signature.
