St Etienne plan to use the cash raised from Wesley Fofana's sale to Leicester City to 'stabilise' their finances.

Leicester have coughed up €35m to prise Fofana away from ASSE after months of negotiations.

RMC says only €10m of that fee will be available to replace Fofana, with the remainder going towards the club.

Local restrictions on fans at stadiums and a reduction in TV money has meant ASSE found themselves in a position that they needed to sell.

Fofana's fee will now be used to cover shortfalls in other areas of the running of the club.
