50 deaths since Sabah election

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah now leads the nation not only in the number of Covid-19 cases reported daily but also in the number of deaths with 61 as at Sunday (Oct. 18). As for the number of cases, the State recorded 702 on Sunday – its highest – or a nearly 100pc increase over the 451 recorded a day earlier (see separate story on this page).

This was equivalent to 32.6 per cent of the total 187 deaths for the corresponding period, followed by Selangor with 25, Johor (21), Sarawak (19) and Kuala Lumpur (19). 

The remaining states in Malaysia recorded only single digit deaths.
