M-cyclist killed in Papar mishap

PAPAR: A motorcyclist succumbed to head and body injuries after losing control of his motorcycle which led to an accident along KM30 Jalan Lama Papa-Kota Kinabalu, Wednesday.

District Police Chief DSP Batholomew Ak Umpit said the incident occurred at noon when the victim was travelling to Kg Mook from Pekan Kinarut Lama with a pillion rider through Jalan Stesen TV Tampasak Kinarut. Both were in their 20s.

“Upon arriving the scene, it was believed the victim lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. The victim landed on the road where he was severely injured while the pillon suffered injuries to his arm and leg.

“The body was brought to Papar Hospital for a post-mortem while the injured for treatment,” he said. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
