Cops keen to contact ‘Bintang Ku’

LAHAD DATU: Police are calling on “Bintang Ku” to come forward to assist in investigations into comments in his Facebook.

District Police Chief, ACP Nasri Mansor said a report was lodged on Sunday against the Facebook user who alleged that police on duty at Kaka Plastic Roadblock were issuing summons to take the money.

 Nasri said the Facebook user had commented on a photo of summon receipt for driving with an expired license uploaded by Hamri Amri to his Facebook.

 “This Facebook user’s action is tarnishing the image of police and the statement is not true.  We are looking seriously at this matter and stern action will be taken.

 “This case will be investigate under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of Communications and Multimedia Act 1998,” he said.

 Nasri reminded the public to be cautious when making  a comment or statement in social media as well as checking the validity of any information so as not to tarnish the image or name of any party.
