EC needs to disallow handphones

Kota Kinabalu: Vote buying took a new meaning during the recent Sabah election and may have played a role in deciding some of the winners on election night, Daily Express can reveal.

It appears that agents of some of the political parties capitalised on one aspect which the Election Commission completely overlooked – allowing handphones into the voting booth.

Thus, it may necessary for the EC to review their rules to include an additional SOP (standard operating procedure) of disallowing voters entering the booth with their handphone or require them to surrender it before voting and retrieve it after casting their vote, as during check-ins at airports.
