Liverpool's owners are ready to buy a new club in Europe.

The Times says part of investment discussions involving Liverpool owners FSG and Billy Beane's RedBall Acquisition Corp are plans to increase their football portfolio.

It's suggested the consortium would seek to buy another major European team, rather than a satellite club for Liverpool.

Beane is seeking to buy into FSG which would value the company at US$8 billion.

Under FSG's stewardship, Liverpool have won the Premier League title, Champions League and Club World Cup in the last year.
