Chelsea remain in the hunt for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.
Rice has emerged as one of England's best players after shining for West Ham in the heart of midfield, and he has attracted long-term interest from London rivals Chelsea.
The Blues were in hot pursuit of Rice, a former youth product of the club, in the summer transfer window but a £60million move failed to materialise after they failed to offload a number of fringe players.
The Athletic reports Chelsea are hoping Rice ignores any of West Ham's advances to tie home down to a new contract at the London Stadium as the Blues look to snap up his signature in January.
Chelsea's move for Rice in the last transfer window didn't come to fruition as the Blues were reportedly unable to sell players needed to raise the necessary funds for his signature.
