Burnley are on the brink of being sold.
BBC Sport reports Egyptian businessman Mohamed Elkashashy and Cheshire-based lawyer Chris Farnell have submitted their proposals to buy Burnley to the Premier League.
Although alternative purchasers ALK still believe they have a chance of securing a deal with Clarets chairman Mike Garlick, Elkashashy and Farnell are confident they are now in pole position for a deal that could cost £200m.
It is understood paperwork was submitted to the Premier League before news of their bid became public last week, although it was not looked at as Farnell was still the subject of a disqualification order from the Football League.
As this has now been lifted, the Premier League are free to continue their work.
