State Govt committed in 30pc TPAs by 2025

THE State government is committed in continuing its policy to ensure forests with high biological value to be turned into Totally Protected Areas (TPAs), which is aimed to have at least 30 per cent of the State’s land mass by 2025.

To date, Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin (pic) said Sabah achieved 1.9 million hectares of its forest area or 26 per cent of the TPAs, which makes Sabah having the highest TPAs in the country.

Therefore, he said the State Government will continue to focus and take initiatives to protect, preserve and conserve nature.
